ABOUT HANK BERRY RACING

Hank and his wife, Jodi, live in Sidney, MT, where Hank works as the warehouse manager for Sidney Sugars, Inc....of course, in the summer, they can more easily be found at any dirt track in several different states than at their home.

The idea for Hank Berry Racing started while Hank was still a boy watching his Uncle Dave win one sprint car championship after another. The actual race team didn't start until years later when Hank bought a late model on a whim without ever having sat in one. Hank didn't know how he would feel about being a part of the sport until he finished his first full race season as the points runner up in Minot in 1982.

Twenty-four years later, Hank still enjoys driving his late model but also loves the modified which he added a few years later. In addition to racing, Hank has also started putting his experience and knowledge of racecars to work with his "Smokin' J-Car Mods". The concept of the "Smokin' J-Cars" came along in 2004 after Hank was presented with several offers to buy his car following a very successful Dakota Mod Tour.

The "Smokin J-Cars" are a modified version of Jay McDonald's J-Cars. The frames still come from Jay but Hank adds a few things of his own, sets up the car, and continually shares information, ideas, and set-ups with his customers. The new venture has been more successful and has kept Hank a lot busier than he originally planned but it does give him a chance to do what he loves....work with race cars.
